Dear Knoch Middle School Parents,

I am delighted to welcome you to a new academic year at Knoch Middle School filled with endless possibilities for growth, learning, and leadership. Our commitment is to provide a nurturing and empowering environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and personally.  Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to creating engaging and innovative lessons that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication.

At Knoch Middle School, we believe that every student has the potential to be a leader. Regardless of academic ability and social prowess, every student has a unique gift that they can share with others. KMS is proud to be a “Leader in Me” school, where we embrace the principles of Stephen R. Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. These habits serve as our guiding principles and empower our students to become responsible, goal-oriented individuals who can positively influence their communities. Throughout the year, we will integrate leadership education into our curriculum, ensuring that every student has the chance to learn and practice essential leadership skills.

Our students engage in fostering these habits through the development of leadership portfolios. Through this process, students document their academic growth, achievements, and contributions to the school and beyond. These portfolios are a testament to their leadership journey and serve as a valuable resource when they move into high school. Additionally, students are given the opportunity to put their leadership skills into action. We provide several extracurricular activities that will allow students to explore their interests, develop new talents, and make a positive impact on their school community outside of the classroom. 

As parents and guardians, your partnership is vital to the success of our students. We encourage you to support your child's leadership journey by monitoring their progress and by actively engaging in school activities and events. Together, we can help our students reach their fullest potential and become compassionate leaders who positively contribute to the world around them.
