Observatory Opportunity

Students from AP Physics and the high school gifted program went to the Allegheny Observatory on May 23 to learn more about Western Pennsylvania's rich history in astronomy and astrophysics. The observatory is now owned by the University of Pittsburgh and is still used as a functional lab. It is also open to the public several nights each month. PITT and the observatory are offering independent and group projects in astronomy for the 24-25 school year.  Students currently in grades 8-11 who are interested in learning more about doing a project should contact Ms. Thompson at [email protected]
