Reality Tour

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As parents, we all strive to provide our children with the best possible start in life. We want to protect them from the dangers of the world, including the risks associated with drug and alcohol use.  Reality Tour is a program designed to help by presenting a dramatic presentation showing poor choices made and the resulting consequences.  Sharing this experience with your child will open the door to communication about the real dangers of substance use and the harmful effects it can have.

Reality Tour will equip you with the tools and knowledge to:

  • Start important conversations: Learn how to approach the topic of substance use with your child in an age-appropriate and engaging way.
  • Navigate difficult conversations: Discover strategies for handling defensiveness, shutdowns, and concerns about your child's experimentation.
  • Motivate healthy choices: Understand how to empower your child to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
  • Address the consequences: Learn about the short-term and long-term consequences of drug and alcohol abuse.

Reality Tour is an inclusive program designed specifically for parents and their children in grades 6-8. Developed by a parent, it offers:

  • Real-life experiences: Hear from individuals who have struggled with substance use, providing valuable insights and lessons learned.
  • Essential coping skills: Learn practical strategies to help your child navigate peer pressure, manage stress, and build resilience.
  • Quality family time: This program provides a valuable opportunity to connect with your child and strengthen your relationship.

Program Dates: February 24, March 31, and April 28, 2025
